Is there a fee to join the community?

No, Better Birth is an open, fee-free space.

Do I have to be an Anja Health cord blood banking partner to join?

Definitely not. While we absolutely love partnering with doulas to help us in our work to inform families of their stem cell banking options, it is not a requirement for joining us in community.

We welcome all doulas! Certified, student, or self-taught, we're honored and delighted to have you. We also gladly welcome midwives, postpartum doulas, therapists, lactation consultants, registered nurses, sleep specialists, and other perinatal professionals.

How do I join, and how can I get other questions I have answered?

What is Anja Health?

Anja is the first affordable stem cell safe helping families cryopreserve their baby's umbilical cord blood, umbilical cord tissue, and placenta for its stem cells.

Why is Better Birth a part of Anja Health?

At Anja, our mission centers on supporting a fully informed pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. We believe that excellent, safe perinatal care is a human right and that personal autonomy is not optional. Toward that mission, our goal is to improve birth outcomes through the power of community by increasing access to evidence-based information and local perinatal support.

We believe doula care is an essential piece to safe, happy birth outcomes. Evidence shows that doulas positively influence birth outcomes, increase birthing families' satisfaction with their birth experience, and decrease the need for interventions. These positive effects are found to be even greater for folks who are disadvantaged and marginalized. Understanding this we acknowledge that accessing doula care should not be viewed as a luxury, but a necessary and valued part of every birth team.

Through Better Birth by Anja, we are bringing fee-free resources, education and community to doulas as they increase access to equitable, evidence-based perinatal support for families.

What are stem cells?

Stem cells are the body's raw materials from which all other cells are generated. Stem cells are the source of the development of a fetus in utero, and throughout life they provide new cells for the body as it grows, and replace cells that are lost or damaged. Banked stem cells are cryofrozen and accessible for future disease treatment purposes and improving quality of life.

How can I get more information?
